My family and teachers first encouraged me to be a writer when I was in elementary school, but my first job applications for writing positions got rejected because I was just fourteen.
As a result, I found myself working for fast food restaurants part-time while I finished my education. One thing led to another and I didn't look back at writing as a full-time option until I was attending university, where I became a staff writer for the college newspaper. By that time, I'd become a soldier, a ertified drug and alcohol counselor, worked as a corrections officer for a maximum security prison, and had three children. I finished my degree in public relations and marketing, and due to military requirements upon my family, opted to enter real estate, where I used public relations principles extensively to become one of the top three ranking Realtors in my county during my first full year in the industry. Another military move carried me to the Kansas City area, where I've decided to focus upon managing my investment properties and freelance writing. Although I write on nearly any non-technical subject, my favorite topics are marketing, real estate, and relationships.
