My career as a journalist started in 2008 after graduating from the Langara College Journalism Diploma Program. Since that time I have written in community newspapers in Merritt, St. Albert and in Port Alberni. While at these daily and weekly newspapers, I freelanced for the Canadian Press and uncovered groundbreaking environmental and crime stories that hit the pages of the Globe and Mail, Vancouver Sun and the Vancouver Province. In 2009, I was awarded second place in the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association\'s Excellence in Arts and Culture writing category. After leaving the journalism business in 2010, I returned to Vancouver to write for Demand Media, where I am still employed and generate articles for websites such as Ehow.com and Livestrong.com. I recently finished my second children's book, with the first currently being illustrated. I have also a licensed real estate agent who is working on getting his business started while trying to find enough work from home to support myself.
