An exceptional copywriter knows his or her audience. There are situations where a particular audience may require words or phrases that are not completely grammatically correct. There are other situations that insist that a copywriter be very formal. I have the knack to know the difference, and can adapt my writing style to accommodate both.
I have been blessed with the gift of gab, so if given some basic information regarding a product or service, I can write a review that will make you believe that I have actually experienced the taste of a truffle infused risotto, or the texture of a prime beef burger. I can make you believe that I have had granite installed in my home kitchen, or a tub surround in my bathroom, all by exceptional craftsman.
Many years ago, I had a brief opportunity as a volunteer to do some technical writing for the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, PA. They had two journals that could not be published until the annotated bibliographies were completed. This experience taught me to be succinct when I need to say a lot in a small space. I was congratulated for bringing them to the point where they were able to go to press with the technical journals. Although my knowledge base in the sciences is somewhat antiquated, I have retained the ability to read something, and paraphrase it into a few short sentences.
