I like to observe characteristics consistent throughout the history of mankind--the human condition, as it were. Why do we think, behave, react, unite and disunite as we do? What are the social implications--currently and historically? What patterns emerge consistent to man's social and historical interaction, currently and historically? I think the study and integration of human thinking and study of history, literature and politics offers us clues to knowledge and answering of those pertinent questions. History is the story of man; literature articulates the story; politics is but one, though important, manifestation of the story. From these sources, we might fashion a prediction of the future direction that man will take--is taking. George Santayana was only partially correct...to not know (and learn) from the future of man evolving, culturally and socially, is to risk to repetition of past historical debacles. Whenever the opportunity to present in copywriting style an explanation or thought or idea that helps to illuminate the essence of man's developmental, cultural, historical and social, as well as political, significance, I am enthusiastically keen to the assignment--to render into copy the transition of complex ideas dealing with the essence of mankind's continuum in history into clear, concise understanding.
