I am an English Arts major at Hampton University and I am three credits shy of my Bachelors Degree in English Arts. I enjoy writing for pleasure and have excelled thus far. I recently completed my senior thesis which focused on narrative structure and its effect on mother/daughter relationships using Toni Morrisons' Beloved and A Mercy. This process was a culmination of all my literary efforts and included intense research where I became familiar with classical and post-modern critics. I dealt heavily with narrative structure and finely tuned my skills by using citations from Bakhtin, Nietzsche and Henry Louis Gates as well as several critics who also took on the task of exploring narrative structure in Toni Morrison novels as well. I also had the pleasure of defending my thesis orally which was a challenge, but a very exciting one. I am humbled by my work and I use the same amount of dedication that I had during that process with every writing assignment that I am asked to complete.
